The Espoo Illusia low-threshold day center service is designed for adults who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness, or actively using substances, and who live in the Western Uusimaa welfare area. Access to our services is anonymous and free of charge.
With us, you can spend time, play card games, read, watch TV, or simply sit and relax. At the day center, you can also use the restroom and shower, do laundry, rest, get food, and receive donated clothes. Additionally, clients have access to a computer and a phone.
We offer help with various matters
If you wish, the day center staff is ready to support you with various issues, such as questions related to housing or accessing the right services.
We develop our activities together with visitors. Ideas, feedback, and other current matters that arise are discussed in community meetings, to which everyone is welcome.
In our communities, you can also take on volunteer and peer roles. We regularly organize neighborhood tours in nearby areas together with our visitors.
Information and support for people using injectable drugs
The health advisory point, Linkki Leppävaara, of the Western Uusimaa welfare area operates in the same premises as the day center. It offers information and support for people who inject drugs and their families.
You can visit the low-threshold service point directly during its opening hours without a referral or appointment. At Linkki, you can also exchange used needles for clean ones. The service is anonymous, free of charge, and based on mutual trust.
