The Koskela Housing Services Unit provides housing services in Turku. The service is aimed specifically at people who have been homeless for a long time and who have a history of substance abuse and mental health problems.
At the Koskela Housing Services Unit, residents receive personalised support to help them overcome their challenges. The support is comprehensive, multi-disciplinary and tailored to each resident’s needs. Staff are on site around the clock. The aim is to prevent long-term or recurring homelessness and to improve quality of life. Koskela operates on the ‘housing first’ principle, which is based on securing housing first and then tackling other challenges. You do not need to be substance-free to be offered accommodation by us.
The Koskela Housing Services Unit has 20 places offering round-the-clock care and 43 places offering community-based care. Seventeen of the flats are suitable for people with mobility impairments. Residents also have access to communal areas, both indoors and outdoors.
Koskela, which opened in the autumn of 2026, is one of the few properties in the country whose layout and technical solutions have been designed from the outset for a housing service unit operating on the ‘housing first’ principle.
To secure accommodation with us, please first contact the housing support service in your welfare district or your own social worker. Accommodation is based on a tenancy agreement in accordance with the Room Rental Act, which is valid until further notice.
